Biography of Erin Connolly
Erin Connolly is an Emmy Award-nominated journalist who has anchored and reported nationwide for over 15 years. Connolly joined WFSB (CBS), Connecticut’s most watched television station in 2014. she can be seen working weekdays anchoring Eyewitness News at 4pm, 5pm, 6pm and 11pm.
Erin holds a degree from Tufts University in political science and media and communication studies. At the Institution, Erin was co-captain of the women’s basketball team and honored on the NESCAC Academic Team. During her four-year career with the Jumbos, she shot 99 three-pointers, ranking 12th on the team’s all-time list for that category. Furthermore, she spent a summer studying abroad in Talloires, France.
Connolly spent four years as a weekend anchor and reporter for Time Warner Cable News in Albany, New York. Reports of her were seen all over New York State. Some of Erin’s notable assignments included anchoring the Travers Stakes live in Saratoga Springs, the New York State Fair in Syracuse, and the NCAA Final Four men’s basketball tournament in Atlanta, Georgia. Prior to joining TWC News, Erin worked as an anchor and weekend reporter for WCTI (ABC/FOX) in New Bern, North Carolina. She still anchored and produced an hour-long newscast on the weekends and reported during the week. Prior to that, Erin was in the Midwest, where she worked as a weekend anchor and a band reporter for KEYC (CBS/FOX) in Mankato, Minnesota.
Erin got her first job in the television business on the hit television show, Inside Edition. As a story coordinator, Erin worked at a fast-paced newsroom by booking several exclusives. While on the show, she had the opportunity to interview various personalities and celebrities at red carpet events, including John Bon Jovi, John Travolta, Walter Cronkite, Elton John and Billy Joel.
