Greg Dawson is an American journalist and producer who currently serves as vice president of news for NBC7 San Diego and Telemundo 20. He joined the network as a producer in September 1989. Dawson graduated in 1981 from California State University-Chico.
He enrolled at California State University-Hayward in 1981 and majored in Communication and Media Studies. Furthermore, in 1985, he earned a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Southern California.
After his graduation, Dawson worked at various stations. He worked as a writer and producer at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles, CA from September 1985 to February 1987. Dawson was also a producer at KOBI-TV in Medford, Ore from October 1987 to January 1989. Prior to NBC7 , worked as a producer for KOLD-TV in Tucson, Arizona from January 1989 to September 1989.
He currently serves as vice president of news for NBC7 San Diego and Telemundo 20. Over the years, Greg has covered hundreds of local stories as a field producer and produced nearly all of the station’s newscasts. His assignment as a producer of special projects took him across the country.
