Greg Groogan is an American journalist who currently works as a special projects reporter for FOX 26. He is a Texas native and has won over 200 journalism awards, including 28 Lone Star Emmys. Groogan was named Television Journalist of the Year by the Houston Press Club in 2010, 2013, and 2017. In 2010, he won the National Education Writers Association’s first award for reporting.
In addition, Greg is a seven-time regional Edward R. Murrow Award winner, as well as a two-time winner of the Casey Medal of Meritorious Journalism for his reporting on children with special needs, and a three-time winner of the Barbara Jordan Award for excellence in covering Texans with deficiency.
