Hamish Linklater is an American actor famous for his role as Matthew Kimble in The New Adventures of Old Christine. He is also famous for his role as Andrew Keanelly in The Crazy Ones and Clark Debussy in Legion. He recently starred as Father Paul in the Nexflix miniseries Midnight Mass. This role led to him receiving much critical acclaim.
Born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, he graduated from Commonwealth School in Boston in 1994. He later attended Amherst College where he majored in English. A clichéd actor, Linklater made his big screen debut in Groove. Groove is a 2000 American film directed by Greg Harrison.
After a successful start, he landed a role as CNN correspondent Richard Roth in the HBO film Live from Baghdad. He went on to appear in several films and films with which he gained national recognition. He appeared in the 2005 film Fantastic Four. Furthermore, he has a recurring role on the show American Dreams as well as on Gideon’s Crossing.
In 2017, he was cast in a recurring role on the FX original series Legion. As the series progressed, he was promoted to the main cast in its second season. Later in 2020, he was cast as John in the Amazon Prime series Tell Me Your Secrets which premiered on February 19, 2021.
