Stephanie Mead is an American meteorologist best known for serving as the morning weather anchor and traffic anchor for WISH-TV’s Storm Track 8 Weather broadcast. She is also widely recognized for her work on Northern Television Center, KMVT-TV, and NBC 26. Her reporting skills on NBC 26 earned her a Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy Award nomination in 2017.
Born and raised in Chicago, Stephanie attended Hinsdale South High School in Darien, Illinois and later enrolled at Northern Illinois University at Dekalb in 2009. In 2013, she graduated with a degree in Geography with a major in Journalism.
While still in college, Mead joined the Northern Television Center in Dekalb, serving for two years before his graduation. At the station, she honed her broadcasting skills by serving as a weather anchor and reporter. She also spent three months working as an intern at the ABC affiliate station WTVO-TV Channel 17 in Rockford, Illinois.
After graduation, Stephanie joined KMVT as a meteorologist, predicting the weather on weekends and also filling in the morning and evening shows. Mead also acted on the sister channel of the station KSVD-TV as a weather reporter.
In April 2015, Mead moved to Green Bay and joined NBC 26 as a morning weather forecaster as well as a newsroom reporter. Thanks to her outstanding performance, she was honored with a prestigious Emmy Award nomination from the National Academy of Television Arts and Science in 2016 and 2017, respectively.
In April 2017, Stephanie joined WISH-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana where she serves as a weather anchor and traffic anchor. She can also be seen broadcasting Daily News 8 Daybreak between 4 and 10 am.
