Ian Gomez is a screen favorite known for his role in the film My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002). Many people will probably remember him easily for his comedic television work, which regularly includes series such as Javier in Felicity and Andy in Cougar Town.

He was born on 24 December 1965 in New York City, United States of America. He, therefore, has American citizenship, while his ethnicity is mixed (Russian Jewish, and Puerto Rican). Ian’s birth name is Ian Braque Gomez, and he was born as the son of parents who worked in the field of professional art; an artist father and a dancing mother. He is a former student of the improvisation troupe of the Improv Olympic Games in Chicago. His fellow performers include Jon Favreau, Rachel Dratch, Pat Finn, Tim Meadows, and the late Chris Farley. Ian Gomez began his acting career in 1993, and his first job was a role in Excessive Force as Lucas. He also appeared in a television movie called Missing Persons as Pete, the morgue technician.

The next role was that of a strange bellhop in the movie Rookie of the Year. Born in New York, he then moved away from Chicago in 1994 to interrupt his career. This came in 1995 when he got the recurring role on The Drew Carey Show.

He played Larry Almada, an associate of Drew Carey’s character (also known as Drew Carey), on Winfred-Lounder on the Drew Carey Show from 1994-2005. When the fame he sought came, Gomez never stayed away from television until that date. He appeared on the television show Married… with Children and Murphy Brown while the show was still on (between 1995 and 1996).

In 1997, he appeared on Till There Was You as Scott. The same year he appeared in Courting Courtney as Hank. From 1998 to 2002 he played the role of Javier Clemente Quintana on the WB show, Felicity. Gomez also played Mcllvaine on EDtv and worked with Carey in 1999 in the series Whose Line is it Anyway?

In 2002 Ian Gomez became an actor in Alanis Morissette’s music video Hands Clean. That same year he also starred with the likes of Jeff Greene, Ted Danson, Hugh Mellon, and Michael York in two episodes of the HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm, where he appeared as the “bald chef” who was hired by Larry to cook at the restaurant he owned. He also appeared in getting A Clue as Mr. Orlando Walker.

Between 2005 and 2006, Ian Gomez appeared in ABC’s Jake in Progress, whose second cast member was John Stamos. He appeared in the fourth episode of Lost in 2006: Every man for himself, the third episode, and as a therapist in Reba’s April 2006 episode Here We Go Again.

He brought to life the character of Andy Torres from 2009-2015 in the ABC and later TBS comedy Cougar Town with his colleague Christa Miller from the Drew Carey Show. In 2016, Gomez and his wife Nia Vardalos co-hosted the Great American Baking Show, a revival of the Great Holiday Baking Show that has been running from 2015 to the present day.

He also appeared in Cuz-Bros in 2014 and The real O’Neal in 2016. In the same year, he appeared in Angel From Hell and Supergirl, which ran from 2016 to 2017.

The handsome actor was in Fresh Off the Boat, and in 2018 he starred in Living Biblically as Feather Gene. Ian Gomez doesn’t have a long list of girlfriends, as it is known that he was only with one woman, the famous actress and author Nia Vardalos of My Big Fat Greek Wedding. She was also the model for the character “Ian Miller” (John Corbett) in the same movie his wife wrote.

The beautiful Nia Vardalos appeared as the wife of his character in the Drew Carey Show: Strange Bedfellows (1997). She also appeared in Connie and Carla, My Life in Ruins, I Hate Valentine’s Day, and, of course, in My Big Fat Greek Wedding.
