Biography of Isabella Manfredi
Isabella Rubi Manfredi is an Australian songwriter, activist and pop singer. She rose to fame as a member of the Australian indie-pop rock team, The Preatures. In 2013, Rubi and her band won the Vanda & Young composition contest. Furthermore, she was born and raised in Sydney, Australia.
Manfredi started his professional career as a musician in 2010 after meeting Thomas Champion and Jack Moffitt and forming a band together. Later they added people like Luke Davison and Gideon Bensen and titled their band the Preachers. A year later they released the EP Shaking Hand and signed with Mercury Records. That same year, they changed their name to the Preatures to avoid legal complications with other bands. Additionally, the EP contained a single called “Take a Card” which featured Triple J Unearthed.
Furthermore, they also released their second EP called Is This How You Feel?, followed by two singles “Manic Baby”. “Is this how you feel?” and, “Is this how you feel?” likewise, she also participated in a competition in which she came out as the winner of the Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition. Additionally, Ruby won the $50,000 prize and received an ARIA Award nomination for Best Pop Release.
In September 2014, they released the studio album Blue Planet Eyes, which peaked at number four on the ARIA Albums Chart. Furthermore, they also won an award at the 2015 ARIA Music Awards. Later came their second studio album called Girlhood which earned an ARIA Award nomination for Best Rock Album.
Furthermore, Manfredi is the seventh artist to receive the grant, following previous recipients such as Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Hatchie and DD Dumbo. In late 2019, she received the Mushroom Music Publishing Recording Grant, earning $10,000 owed for her debut album. From 2021 to 2022, she has released three singles: “Jealousy”, “One Hit Wonder” and “Naive”. Furthermore, Isabella also released her fourth album titled izzi.
