Jeff Cole’s biography
Jeff Cole is an American journalist and reporter who currently works as an investigative reporter for FOX29. He joined FOX29 in March 2000 and has worked there ever since. Cole holds the Weiss Award for Investigative Reporting, as well as a number of Edward R, Murrow Awards, and Associated Press awards.
After his education, he graduated from University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he majored in Journalism and History in 1980. While still an undergraduate, he worked as a production editor for WTNH-TV, an ABC affiliate in New Haven. Furthermore, he also served as an intern on Capitol Hill for a congressman from Connecticut.
Prior to joining FOX29, he worked at a CBS affiliate in Hartford, Connecticut. It was at this same point that he began his career as a morning news anchor in 1984. After a two-year stint as an anchor, he did investigative reporting for over a decade. In this time, he won four New England Emmy Awards for his investigative reporting. Jeff has twice won the prestigious Theodore Driscoll Award, named after the longtime investigative reporter for the Hartford Courant.
Jeff has also been a two-time winner of the Weiss Award for Investigative Reporting, as well as a number of Edward R. Murrow Awards and Associated Press Awards. Reports from him led to changes in the law, layoffs, layoffs and arrests. Along with investigative reporting, he is a surrogate anchor and occasionally covers state politics.
