Jentezen Franklin is an American televangelist, author, and evangelical pastor born in North Carolina, United States. He is the senior pastor of Free Chapel Church, a multi-site church located in Gainesville, Georgia, United States.
Additionally, he is the author of influential books including; Right People, Right Place, Right Plan; Fast; Fear Fighters and The Spirit of Python.
Franklin studied tenor saxophone classes at Atlantic Christian College (now known as Barton College). He attended this school along with his older brother Richie. However, Franklin dropped out of college after his brother Richie later graduated, following the ministry under his father’s guidance. This led him to become an evangelist in God’s Church.
Jentezen was initially placed as Free Chapel’s pastor after Roy Wellborn, then Free Chapel’s senior pastor, passed away in 1989.
Frank then opened the second Free Chapel in Irvine, California in 2007. He also opened a Gwinnett Church in Suwanee, Georgia, United States in 2014. Two years later, he expanded the Free Chapel to South Carolina in Spartanburg with effect in 2016 .
