Joe Bastianich Biography
Joseph Bastianich (better known as Joe Bastianich) is an Italian-American author, restaurant owner, winemaker, television personality and musician. He is known for being a judge on MasterChef. After spending a year on Wall Street as a bond trader, Joe gave up his newly launched career and ventured into the food industry.
Bastianich was a judge on the MasterChef series until he was replaced by Christina Tosi in the spring of 2015 after leaving the franchise in November 2014. Joe temporarily returned to judge the 6th season of MasterChef Junior. The Chef was also a judge on the Italian version of the MasterChef Italia program.
He announced his departure from MasterChef Italia to devote himself to his passion for music. In September of the same year, he released his first album entitled “Aka Joe”.
Bastianich also guest-starred as a guest judge on MasterChef Canada in Season 1, Episode 14. He owns vineyards and has opened wineries in Italy and Argentina. He is also a restaurant owner and co-owner of restaurants in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Singapore and Hong Kong.
