Joe Zee is a Hong Kong-born Canadian fashion designer, journalist and producer known for Entertainment Tonight, FABLife and Celebrity Style Story. He served as Elle’s creative director for about seven years in the past. Zee became Editor-in-Chief and Executive Creative Director of Yahoo! Style in April 2014. However, he resigned from Yahoo in June 2017.
Born in Hong Kong, he moved to Toronto when he was one year old and ended up growing up there. He started working with fashion in 1990, at the age of 22. He eventually moved to New York City and enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Technology. He met Lori Goldstein in the mid-1990s and ended up being her assistant.
Zee was described in a New York Times profile as a leader in the digital and mass transformation of fashion. He was a recurring character as the head of the reality show The City. Additionally, he has appeared in episodes of Ugly Bett, Mistresses, and General Hospital as himself. In 2010, Zee made a guest appearance on Gossip Girl.
