Prior to his current occupation, he worked as the creative director of US Harper’s Bazaar and co-founder of Visionaire. He has received a number of awards throughout his career.
He was awarded the Creative Visionary Award by the CFDA in 2001 following his Harper’s Bazaar nomination. Talking about his education, he majored in photography from Parsons New School of Design. He was born in the Philippines but moved to New York in the early 1980s.
He co-founded Visionaire in 1991 with model Cecilia Dean and Parsons alumni James Kaliardos. The magazine gave free rein to the artists.
