John Dias is an Emmy Award-winning American journalist and currently works as a reporter for CBS New York. He joined CBS2 News and CBS New York in November 2017. Prior to joining CBS News, John served as an anchor and reporter at 12Networks covering breaking news and crime.
He attended Sachen High School and later joined the University of Albany, Suny, where he graduated with a double BA in Communications and Rhetorical Journalism. While at university, John juggled both classes and a full-time job as a web producer for News10 ABC in Albany, NY.
His first on-air job was as a multimedia journalist at KREX-TV in Grand Junction, Colombia. He also worked for WTEN-TV as an online multimedia journalist and news assistant. Between June 2010 and December 2010, John worked for SUNY Student Assembly as Director of Communications. In his capacity, John was responsible for all correspondence between the Student Assembly and the media. He also served as a personal liaison between the president and media correspondents.
From January 2010 to June 2010, John worked for the New York State Assembly as a legislative intern. He coordinated between government agencies, media, lobbyists and a variety of other organizations. Dias also worked for Albany Student Television and Bannon for the Civil Court.
