Joy Reid’s biography
Joy Reid is an American journalist who works as a political commentator, television host and national correspondent for MSNBC.
She was named a national correspondent in 2015, after joining the station in 2011 as a contributor. Every night of the week, she presents the new show, Reid’s departure. When this show replaces Chris Matthew’s long-running show Hardball, she will be the only black woman hosting an evening primetime show in the United States.
Joy also served on the Barack Obama campaign. In 2006, she presented, ‘Wake Up South Florida’. She hosted MSNBC’s weekend morning political talk show called “I AM JOY”. This program has over 1 million views weekly.
After high school, Joy enrolled at Harvard University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in filmmaking. She had to pay her own school fees as she struggled to cope with the unfamiliar environment.
