Joyce Evans is a renowned American news anchor and reporter who currently anchors the WTXF’s Fox 29 News at 6pm and 10pm on weekends. Evans joined the station in 1996 as a weekend anchor and general reporter.
Joyce attended Kenilworth Elementary, Grimke Elementary, Shaw Jr. High and graduated from McKinley High School. She then joined Howard University Upward Bound and graduated (class of 1978) from Florida A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism.
Joyce began her journalistic career as a morning anchor at WSET in Lynchburg, Virginia, and later worked as a weekend anchor and public relations host in Miami, Florida. Evans moved to Philadelphia and for ten years worked at KYW-TV as a reporter, anchor and host for The Saturday Tribune.
In 1996, Joyce joined Fox 26 News as a weekend anchor and general reporter. She currently anchors WTXF’s News at 6pm and 10pm on weekends.
Joyce is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the National Association of Black Journalists and the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia, where in 2018, she was inducted into their hall of fame.
