Joyce Meyer biography
Joyce Meyer is a Christian author and speaker. She is also the president of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Meyer was born Pauline Joyce Hutchison Meyer on June 4, 1943, in St Louis, United States of America.
Young Joyce was initially raised by her mother as her father served in the army during World War II. Upon her father’s return from the military, he abused her not only sexually, but also mentally, emotionally, and verbally. He was a commando character.
Misuse left a deep mark on Joyce herself. Although she seemed fine to outsiders, Joyce became a victim of multiple personality disorder. Her concentration at school was low and she was also not allowed to participate in any extracurricular activities.
At a young age, Joyce was filled with a sense of low self-esteem. She was hardly manageable and developed a controlling, manipulative, insecure and tough character. She experienced a sense of guilt and negative thinking that was guided by suspicion. The worst thing was that she never felt safe everywhere.
Despite being a victim of abuse, Joyce did not give up on her studies and graduated from O’Fallon Technical High School in St Louis.
Joyce Meyer’s Career
After graduation, Joyce married a part-time car salesman, but the marriage came to an end in just five years. She then married Dave Meyer in 1967. Meyer had an emotional influence on Joyce, who with her support and encouragement calmed down a bit.
It was while driving to work in 1976 that Meyer claims to have received a personal message from God. The scenario left a profound impact on her as she discovered a true love for the Words of God and developed the ability to fully understand and understand them.
After accepting God’s message, she became a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in St. Louis, a Congregation of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. She started the service by taking the place of a teacher in a neighborhood cafeteria for a morning class.
…..
She became a working member of Life Christian Center, a charismatic church in Fenton. Before long, she was selected as an associate minister for the congregation. His Bible lessons gained so much popularity that the church became one of the leading churches in the region.
Her popularity as a Bible teacher made her prominent and she was considered a very respectable preacher. In response to great demand, she began a 15-minute daily radio broadcast on the St Louis radio station.
In 1985, she resigned as associate minister and founded her own ministry. The latter, ‘Life in the Word’ and was started on the WGN Superstation in Chicago and Black Entertainment Television (BET). She was offered to broadcast her show on six different radio stations.
In 1993, Dave Meyer convinced her to expand her network to television as well. Eventually a television ministry was started under the name of ‘Enjoying Everyday Life’ which gained a lot of traffic on the air.
……

Operationally updated, ‘Enjoying Everyday Life’ is broadcast in 40 languages on 900 TV and radio stations. It is estimated to be serving over 4.5 billion viewers worldwide. Based in Missouri, it has an estimated workforce of around 1,000 employees across its 12 satellite offices.
Joyce Meyer Ministries teaches on a variety of topics with a greater focus on the mind, mood, mouth and attitude. What made her show irresistible is the fact that she freely shares her experiences and her learning and inspires viewers to learn from them and apply the same to their lives. His practical approach to the Bible is extremely unique and innovative.
Over the years, she has authored nearly 100 books, which have been translated into over 100 languages and reached nearly 12 million readers. The high demand for the books and the super-successful responses from readers and critics made her one of the New York Times’ best-selling authors.
……
In addition to promoting her ministry and writing books, Joyce holds several national and international conferences every year that motivate people to start enjoying their everyday lives. Its annual women’s conference has been very responsive, involving over 200,000 women from around the world each year.
Joyce says it is through her teachings that she has a special focus on meeting the needs of the suffering and helping people reach the Gospel in practical ways. In that spirit, she started Hand of Hope, a foundation that serves as the missionary arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. It runs various programs such as food supply, medical assistance and disaster management.
In 2000, she teamed up with her husband to found the St Louis Dream Center. The Center focuses on serving the inner city through a hands-on program focused on treating the needy, lost, and hurting through the love of Christ.
…..
Despite her good work, she was criticized for being overly indulgent and leading an ultra-luxurious lifestyle. However, she has countered the criticism by stating that she doesn’t need to defend herself for being ‘blessed’.
It was because of his flashy and extravagant lifestyle that the St. Louis KNLC, under the command of Rev. Larry Rice of the New Life Evangelistic Center dropped out of his program in 2004. It is also claimed that another reason for the latter was that his teachings were beyond biblical reference.
In 2009, Joyce Meyer Ministries was accredited by the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA).
