Kim Passoth is an American news anchor who currently works for Fox 5 KVVU TV weekdays at 4pm on the news alongside John Huck. She has gained a lot of experience working in local newsrooms across the country. This includes reporting in small towns like Great Falls, Montana and Corpus Christi, Texas, to anchoring in big markets like Atlanta and Los Angeles.
Passoth attended the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and graduated Summa-Cum-Laude with a BA in Mass Communication and Political Science. While attending UCLA, Kim worked as an intern at station KABC-7 in Los Angeles, covering various red carpet events as one of the entertainment interns.
Passoth then moved to Daily Bruin Television and Bruin News 29, where he worked as a reporter covering an outrageous incident at the university’s library, which involved one of the students being tased.
After graduation, Kim began working as a general reporter and anchor for ABC’s KFBB station in Great Falls, Montana. She was tasked with anchoring and organizing coverage of the 2008 presidential election. On the network, Kim’s most memorable moment was interviewing Walter Bruening, who at 113 was the oldest man alive at the time.

At the station, she covered several breaking news bulletins that included the Mexican-American immigration situation. Additionally, Kim pioneered a segment called Pet of the Week, which saw her highlighting various dogs and cats that were in desperate need of adoption. She also benefited from the same by adopting her dog, Summer.
Kim spent three years in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, working as a reporter and anchor. She had the opportunity to cover important news such as record-breaking natural disasters and crimes in and around the city. In 2014, Passoth was at the forefront of coverage of a dangerous wildfire in Oklahoma and subsequently earned the station an Edward R. Murrow Award for coverage.
