Sally Kidd is an American reporter and correspondent for the Sunshine State and currently works for NBC 5 News as a reporter for the station’s Washington Bureau. Prior to joining NBC 5 News, Sally worked as a journalist for NBC’s sister station WELSH-TV, where she spent nearly 7 years.
Sally graduated from Louisiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Additionally, she earned an MPS degree in Public Relations/Corporate Communications from Georgetown University.
Kidd began her career in 1997 as a reporter for WELSH TV, an affiliate of NBC. The station was owned by Hearst Television. Furthermore, she worked as a general assignment reporter for the station. She got her first job in radio, reporting on telecommunications traffic from a plane in the skies over Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
