Kipchumba Murkomen is a Kenyan lawyer and current Senator for Elgeyo Marakwet County. Furthermore, he is the majority leader in the Senate. Kipchumba is among the founders of the United Republican Party (URP), a subsidiary of Jubilee.
Senator Kipchumba was elected Senator for Elgeyo-Marakwet County in 2013 on a URP ticket, beating the late Nicholas Biwott among other prominent politicians. In 2017, Murkomen was easily re-elected on a jubilee ticket defeating former inspector general David Kimaiyo.
