Kristine Varkony is an American journalist, anchor and reporter currently working as a multifaceted journalist who produces, reports and films from Helicopter 4 at NBC4 in Columbus, Ohio. She joined the NBC4 staff in March 2017. Prior to joining NBC4, Varkony worked as a reporter and producer at NBC4’s sister station WTRF 7News in Steubenville, Ohio.
Varkony graduated Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. She then interned at NBC4 her senior year. Currently, Varkony serves as a multifaceted journalist who produces, reports and films on Chopper at NBC4 in Columbus, Ohio. She joined the NBC4 team in March 2017.
Kristine was born in Pittsburgh but has lived in Ohio all her life. She was raised in Ohio Valley (Jefferson County). She later went to Ohio State where she received her journalism degree from NBC4 in her senior year.
Furthermore, Varkony returned to Ohio Valley where she began her profession as a news presenter in her former neighborhood market at NBC4’s sister station WTRF 7News where she worked as a reporter and producer. Initially, Varkony reported in Columbus while still working at WTRF when she was sent to cover the Ohio State attack in November 2016 for Nexstar.
During her free time, she loves exploring Columbus, being outdoors, enjoying Mexican food, attending fitness classes and spending quality time with her nephews and nieces who also reside in Columbus.
