If a sports career in high school and college were an indication that an athlete would be exceptional as a professional, Kyle Singler would be close, if not better, than LeBron James in the NBA today. The former member of the men’s basketball team Duke, who played a major role in winning the 2010 NCAA Championship, is currently playing for Monbus Obradoiro of League ACB after failing to reach extra time with his former team, Oklahoma City Thunder.

Kyle Singler Biography

Singler was born on May 4, 1988, in Medford, Oregon, as Kyle Edward Singler, one of three children of Kris and Ed Singler. His father played college football as a quarterback at Oregon State, while his mother was a star basketball player at the same school. This meant that Singler was predisposed with a wealth of athletic genes, and it was clear from a very young age that he would become an athlete.

He attended South Medford High School, where he was an outstanding ballplayer on the school’s basketball team. In his junior year, Kyle Singler earned a spot on the U.S. national U-18 junior team in 2006 when he signed up to attend the prestigious Duke University. In his senior year, he averaged 29.3 points and 10.6 rebounds per game and led his school to the first state basketball championship ever, being named Oregon’s Player of the Year along with his rival Kevin Love. He has also been named First-team Parade All-American, McDonald’s All-American, and Jordan Brand All-American, among many other high school awards.

As a rookie in Duke, Kyle Singler averaged 13.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, helping his team set a 28-6 record. His performances this season earned him the ACC Rookie of the Year award and sparked speculation that the power forward could follow in the footsteps of many other players, including Love at UCLA to enter the NBA after a college season. Singler, however, quickly put the speculation to rest, saying he needed to mature both physically and mentally before he could enter the big leagues.

Singler continued his performance on the field in his second year, averaging a team-high 16.5 points per game throughout the season. He maintained his performances well into his junior college year, winning the school’s fourth national championship by being personally named fourth-best player in the NCAA finals. Although he had hopes of entering the NBA after his championship season, Singler returned to Duke for his final year of college, where he averaged 16.9 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. He graduated from Duke University as the fourth top scorer with 2,392 points and was subsequently drafted by the Detroit Pistons with the 33rd overall score in the 2011 NBA Draft.

Kyle Singler NBA Career

Due to the 2011 NBA lockout, Kyle Singler initially played as a professional for the League ACB side CB Lucentum Alicante. After some trips with the team, he decided to switch to Real Madrid instead of returning to the NBA after the lockout. However, after winning the Spanish Royal Cup in 2012, Singler returned to the Pistons to compete in his NBA rookie season and earn the honor of the second all-rookie team after that season.

Singler spent three years with the team before switching to Oklahoma City Thunder in 2015. He spent four years with Thunder, making two playoffs in 2016 and 2017, before returning to Spain in 2018 to play for Monbus Obradoiro.

After graduating, E. J. was not drafted in the 2013 NBA Draft but still joined the Detroit Pistons for the 2013 NBA Summer League. His performance then caught the attention of the Portland Trail Blazers, who signed him but almost immediately gave him up after he failed to impress in two pre-season games. E. J. Singler’s next stop was the NBA Development League, after which he moved to Estonia in 2014. The following year he returned to the USA and was pushed around in the Development League teams until he moved back to Germany in 2017. He currently plays in Greece for Panionios.

Kyle Singler’s Net Worth

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Kyle Singler has an estimated net worth of $3 million. The power forward has been able to accumulate such a net worth thanks to the contracts he had in the NBA. His first contract in 2012 was a three-year contract with the Pistons for $3.135 million. In 2015 he extended his stay in Oklahoma by agreeing to a four-year contract for $19 million.

Does He Have a Wife or Girlfriend?

Details of Kyle Singler’s love life are not clear, although it appears that the basketball player is not married but may very well be in a relationship. If Singler is indeed in a relationship, he has clearly worked hard to keep the person’s identity unknown to the general public, as there are no pictures or even gossip blogs that contain any stories about him and any woman.
