Maryalice Demler is an American television journalist and news anchor for WGRZ in Buffalo, New York. She has anchored Channel 2 News at 5:30, 6:00, 10:00 and 11:00 since she joined the station in September 1993.
Demler participated in the University of Niagara and graduated with a BA in Political Science and a BA in French in 1986. In 1990, she won the Miss New York title and participated in Miss America 1991 on September 7, 1990. Additionally, on April 18, 2010, The New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honored her with the New York Emmy Award for Outstanding News Anchor – In the On-Camera Talent category. Additionally, Demler is the first Buffalo-area news anchor to receive the award for best news anchor.
She was the Executive Director of the Miss Buffalo Pageant for several years and led her holders to Miss New York. Furthermore, Demler runs the Canal Fest Pageant of The Tonawandas and she ran the Miss Erie County Fair Pageant for several years.
