Matt Barnes is an American journalist who currently serves as the morning anchor for NBC4 Today, a position he assumed in January 2016. He joined the NBC4 family in May 2010 as a sports anchor and reporter.
Barnes graduated from EW Scripts School of Journalism in Ohio University, graduating cum laude in broadcast journalism. Barnes began his career at NBC4 as an intern, working in the sports department in the summer of 2007, learning all the ins and outs of the television business.
Matt graduated from Ohio University’s EW Scripps School of Journalism, majoring cum laude in broadcast journalism. While in college, he worked on Gridiron Glory at WOUB, which won an Emmy Award for student production.
