Meg Gatto is an Edward R. Murrow Award-winning American journalist who currently works as an anchor and reporter at FOX 8 News WVUE in Nola. She joined the network in March 2011 and you can watch her on FOX 8 Morning Edition. Gatto is from the suburbs of Philadelphia and followed in his parents’ footsteps and moved to New Orleans to attend college. She attended Loyola University where she majored in broadcast journalism.
At a young age, Gatto knew he wanted to become a reporter and sought various internships and opportunities to fulfill that dream. Along the way, she created lasting relationships that helped her as her career progressed.
Also, after working for two years in Harrisonburg, Gatto returned to New Orleans. During her tenure there, she covered several high-profile stories such as the Virginia Tech mass shooting, the BP oil spill, the Danziger Bridge trial, and various hurricanes.
Additionally, Gatto was nominated for multiple Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards and Louisiana Associated Press Awards. She has also been honored by the New Orleans Press Club for her work, including awards for breaking news of the year and general news, and others.
Gatto received his regional Murrow Award for an investigation into the New Orleans Police Department. In her spare time, Gatto enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, as well as volunteering with non-profit organizations that are dear to her.
