Michael Smerconish is a renowned American radio and television presenter, political commentator, author, newspaper columnist and lawyer. He is the host of the weekly Saturday TV show on CNN known as “Smerconish” at 9:00 am ET.

The book compiles 100 newspaper columns, each with a contemporary afterword, drawn from the 1,047 comments he published in the Sunday Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News in the first 15 years after 9/11. The book spawned a lecture tour called “American Life in Columns,” featuring the author telling stories from the book to live audiences in two dozen small theaters across America.

When the Corona pandemic hit in March 2020, Michael was about to kick off a new tour known as “Things I Wish I Knew Before I Started Talking”, a one-man show celebrating his 30th anniversary on the radio. Additionally, a taped style of the show aired globally as a one-hour CNN special on July 11, 2020. The full show was scheduled to be released on December 8, 2020 by Virgil Films on VOM and DVD.
