Mitch Carr is an American journalist who currently works as a weekend anchor, reporter and multipurpose journalist at 12 News since February 2019. He joined 12 News from WRAL, an NBC affiliate in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he worked as freelance reporter.
Mitch majored in Broadcast and Spanish Journalism at University of Miami. He then moved to Mexico City and Vina del Mar, Chile to continue his studies.
After graduation, Carr began his career as a freelance reporter at WRAL’s NBC affiliate in Raleigh, North Carolina, before joining 12 News. At the station, Mitch covered the aftermath of Hurricane Florence. Previously, he worked for the Sports Director of WRIC, an ABC affiliate in Richmond, Virginia, for exactly 4 years.
He also served as a general news reporter at WGHP. the FOX affiliate in High Point, North Carolina, and KLAS, the CBS affiliate in Las Vegas, Nevada, working as a morning reporter. This was after starting his career as a general reporter at KLBK, the CBS affiliate in Lubbock, Texas.
