Reg Chapman biography
Reg Chapman is an American journalist who currently serves as a reporter for WCCO-TV in Minneapolis, Minnesota, since joining the station in May 2009. He previously worked at WNBC-TV as a reporter. Reg also worked as a criminal betting reporter at KSTP-TV in Minneapolis.
Additionally, he reported on WPIX-TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, covering big news such as the crash of Flight 93 on September 11, 2001, and the rescue of the nine at the Que Creek Mine in Somerset County, Pennsylvania.
Reg is a proud graduate of University of Nebraska, Omaha, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism. After graduation, Chapman began his career in 1999 at WPXI-TV, where he worked as a reporter. After two years, he moved to KSTP-TV to work as a reporter. At the same time, Reg reported to Hubbard Broadcasting.
Starting in 2005, Chapman joined WNBC as a reporter, where he worked for three years before joining WCCO-TV. Prior to that, Reg also served as a reporter and anchor for WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio, WOWT-TV in Omaha, NEB and KTIV-Tv in Sioux City, Iowa.
Over the course of his career, Chapman has been recognized with an Edward R. Murrow Award for investigative reporting, several Associated Press awards, and honors from the Society of Professional Journalists. Additionally, he was nominated for several National Television Academy regional Emmy Awards for investigative reporting.
Chapman donates his time to the Urban League, NAACP and YMCA, which honored him as a Black Achiever. For his community service, Reg was selected as one of Pittsburgh’s Top 50. Additionally, Reg is a member of the local chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists.
