Biography of Muhoozi Kainerugaba
Muhoozi Kainerugaba is a Ugandan lieutenant general who serves as the commander of the Uganda People’s Defense Force (UPDF) ground forces. Previously, he was commander of the Special Forces Command (SFC). However, both the UPDF and SFC are accused of using excessive force and abductions. After that, Muhoozi and other senior officials are mentioned in an International Criminal Court complaint.
In 2017, he was appointed Presidential Advisor, which has led to speculation that he is being groomed for the presidency. He was later reappointed as the elite Special Forces Command (SFC) Commander in December 2020. Muhoozi served in the same role from 2008 to 2017.

In 2017 he was admitted to a one-year course at the United States Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, graduating in June 2008. In 1999, he joined the UPDF as a cadet officer and graduated in 2000 from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the British Army’s officer training school. Later, in 2011, he was promoted to Colonel.
