Nancy Travis is an American actress who began her career in Off-Broadway theater, before her first major film role in Harem. Harem was an ABC television miniseries. Her breakthrough, however, came in 1987, in the comedy film Three Men and a Baby, where she played Sylvia Bennington. She later starred in its sequel, Three Men and a Little Lady.
Born in Queens, Travis attended a local high school. Shortly after graduating, his first job was in a play, It’s Hard to Be a Jew. She then appeared in a theatrical version of Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach Memories. For her Broadway debut, she appeared in I’m Not Rappaport
From 1995 to 1997, she played a leading role in the CBS sitcom Almost Perfect, but the show was canceled after two seasons. Later, in 1999, she starred in the short-lived TV series Work with Me, in which she also participated in the production. However, due to low ratings, the show was canceled after four episodes.
In 2011, she was cast in the ABC sitcom Last Man Standing. Last Man Standing was canceled in 2017 after sister seasons and 130 episodes. However, the show was revived by Fox in Fall 2018 and premiered on September 28, 2018. Last Man Standing ended in 2021 after 194 episodes. Travis was then cast in the Netflix comedy series The Kominsky Method as a female lead. She returned to film in 2022, starring opposite Hilary Swank in the drama Ordinary Angels.
