Rachel Brown is an American journalist who currently works as a weekend morning co-anchor and general reporter for ABC7 Eyewitness News. She joined WABC-TV in June 2019 from WCNC-TV and is thrilled to be a member of Los Angeles’ number one news team.
A Chicago native, Rachel received a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism from University of Illinois. In addition, she earned a master’s degree in communication management and graduated from Northwestern University a year later.
Brown landed his first reporting job in South Bend, Indiana. While there, she received her first Emmy nomination for her reporting during a winter storm. Her next move was to Charlotte, North Carolina, where she joined NBC Charlotte and served as a weekday anchor and nightly reporter for three years.
During her time in Charlotte, Rachel volunteered weekly at Levine Children’s Hospital as a child life specialist. Her main goal was to make the children feel as happy and comfortable as possible during their hospital stay. This describes Rachel’s passion for children.
Brown is delighted to serve Southern California. She even looks forward to more volunteering opportunities, trying out new restaurants and exploring all that Los Angeles has to offer.
