Randy Pedersen biography
Randy Pedersen is an American journalist, sportscaster and former professional footballer. He is currently a color analyst for Fox Sports’ coverage of the PBA Tour. He previously filled the same role on the ESPN and CBS Sports Network broadcasts of the PBA Tour the previous season. Additionally, during the most recent season, he worked alongside announcers Rob Stone and Dave Ryan. He previously worked with Dave LaMont, Lon McEachern and Mike Jakubowski. This eloquent journalist has resided in Florida ever since. Pedersen graduated from St. Monica Catholic High School.
As a player, he won 13 PBA Tour titles, the last being at age 40 at the 2002 Pepsi Open. This title pushed him to the $1 million career mark. Ser was his masterpiece from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s. He won the prestigious PBA National Championship crown in 1987 for his one and only major title.
In addition, he won three titles in the 1989 season, but was defeated in the PBA Player of the Year honors by Amleto Monacelli. Pedersen is also known for having suffered two of the worst breaks in PBA Tour history. However, he lost the 1995 Bayer-Brunswick Touring Players Championship. He lost to veteran Ernie Schlegel 237-236.
Furthermore, he was ranked 35th on the 2008 PBA list of the “50 Greatest Players of the Last 50 Years”. Pedersen was inducted into the PBA Hall of Fame in October 2010. He was also inducted into the Class of 2011 on January 22, 2011 and joined the PBA50 Tourin 2013.
