American professional basketball player Ron Baker became the seventh highest-paid player at the New York Knicks at the age of 24, the 92nd highest-paid Guard, and the 221 highest-paid NBA player, all in 2017. American professional basketball player Ronald Delaine Baker, affectionately known as Ron Baker, was born on March 30, 1993, the son of Neil and Ranae Baker in Hays, Kansas, where he grew up with his two other siblings, Audrey and Sloan. He attended Scott City High School in Scott City, Kansas, and then enrolled at Wichita State College, where he studied economics from 2012 until he graduated in 2016.

Ron Baker began his career in high school, and sources say he was a major player who helped his team set a 25-1 record and earned him the title of 3A First Team All-States in Kansas.

After a successful basketball career in high school, Ron Baker’s college career actually did not begin very successfully as he retired for the entire first season of his college career, which led him to not play for the Shockers. Although he later got the chance to play for his college team, Ron Baker was not able to deliver an impressive performance as an efficient scorer. Together with an injured left foot, he managed to perform in only 18 games. Later, however, he was able to rehabilitate himself when he led the Wichita State Shockers to success with three conference titles. He also played an important role in supporting his college team, which won nine NCCA tournaments. In his final days in college, in the 2015/2016 season, Ron led the Shockers with 14.0 points, 48 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.5 steals in more than 31.6 minutes in 35 games.

Despite a successful career in high school and college, Ron Baker was not drafted into the NBA, which led him to join the New York Knicks for the NBA Summer League and he was signed by the Knicks on August 1, 2016. He played his first game for the team on October 25, 2016, scoring 5 points and 1 rebound in 7 minutes, but the Knicks, unfortunately, lost the game to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a 117-88 defeat. He also scored 13 points on December 15, 2016, when the team suffered a 103-90 defeat against the State Warriors. Ron Baker recorded his first career statistic for the New York Knicks on January 16, 2017, when he scored 12 points, but the New York Knicks suffered another defeat against the Atlanta Hawks in a narrow 108-107 defeat.

In August 2017 Ron Baker renewed his contract with the Knicks, but unfortunately, he injured himself a few months later during his team’s winning game against the New Orleans Pelicans on December 30, 2017, which excluded him from the season after a thorough medical examination on February 5, 2018. Nevertheless, Ron was able to deliver an impressive performance in the regular seasons of 2016/2017 and 2017/2018, playing a total of 81 games, starting 14 games, scoring 1.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 7 steals.
