Sam Brock is a famous American journalist who has worked for NBC 5, a Chicago-based channel as a news correspondent since September 2012. He reports for the NBC Bay Area nightly news and the station’s digital platforms. Prior to joining NBC News, Sam worked for the NBC Bay Area first as a reporter and analyst and later as a morning news anchor. Eventually, Brock served as a San Francisco Reporter.
Since joining the NBC Bay Area, Brock has won an Emmy Award for his coverage of the Ghost Ship warehouse fire in Oakland. Recently, Sam covered the Kate Steinle Murder trial from start to finish, the death of San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee, and the devastating fires in Wine Country. In addition, he reports general assignment news with a focus on San Francisco politics and government issues.

Prior to joining the NBC Bay Area, Sam worked as a 5pm political anchor and reporter for WTVR in Richmond, Virginia. During his four-year stay there, he covered broad topics such as gun policy, women’s rights issues and a series of stories investigating Virginia’s care for its residents with intellectual disabilities.
