Scott Cam is an Australian television personality who has also been awarded the Gold Logie and has appeared on various lifestyle shows on the Nine Network. Cam is famous for being the host of TV renewal reality show The Block. Born in Sydney, Cam studied at Waverley College and was a carpenter with a three-year apprenticeship in his brother’s business.
He first appeared on Nine’s popular lifestyle show Backyard Blitz in 2000 alongside Jamie Durie. They did construction segments until the show’s cancellation in 2006. Managing all of this, he appeared on the successful Renovation Rescue before appearing on his own live lifestyle show Our Place. However, Our Place was canceled after just five episodes in 2005. After that, he appeared on Domestic Blitz from 2008 to 2010.
He went on to host the 2010 series The Block and has returned as host for every season since then. Furthermore, he appeared as himself in a farewell to The Block on the comedy show The Joy of Sets in 2011.
In addition to his television work, Cam has also written two books on construction and renovation: Out The Back the follow-up, Home Maintenence For Knuckleheads. Cam has also been featured as the brand ambassador for Miter 10 Australia since 2011.
