The story of Stipe is that of the son of a migrant who made it to the land of the free. Stipe Miocic was born to his parents, Kathy and Bojan Miocic. His parents were both immigrants from Croatia – his mother from Cetingrad and his father from Rtina.
He was born on August 19, 1982, in Euclid, Ohio. While attending Eastlake North High School, Miocic played a variety of different sports, including baseball, soccer, and even wrestling. When college changed, Miocic attended Cleveland State University, majoring in marketing and communications. He later moved to Trevecca Nazarene University where he earned a degree in Communications.
During his time at both colleges, however, he was the target of several major league baseball teams. In the senior national team, he beat .344 with seven home runs while helping his team, the Trojans, winning the 2005 Trans-South Atlantic Conference. He graduated from the University of Trevecca Nazarene.

One might have thought that Stipe would enter the world of sports at some point in his life, as he played various sports during his formative days. While he trained in both wrestling and baseball, Miocic was a training partner for Dan Bobish at the Strong Style MMA Training Centre, Independence, Ohio. He was initiated into mixed martial arts but switched to boxing where he was seen beating up boxers who had much more experience than he did, as he had only been training for a few months.
In boxing, Miocic became the Cleveland Golden Gloves boxing champion and NCAA Division I, wrestler, at Cleveland State, and then returned to the MMA where he won his first six fights, all by knockout.

On June 14, 2011, an all-out deal between Miocic and the UFC was announced. His debut for the UFC took place on October 8, 2011, against Joey Beltran. Miocic won the fight by unanimous decision. From then on, Miocic found himself in a series of fights, most of which included victories, on his way to compete in the UFC heavyweight championship.
On May 14, 2016, he took on then-champion Fabricio Werdum in the UFC 198. He defeated Werdum to win the title, giving him his first defeat since June 2011. Miocic then defended the title in three consecutive defenses against Alistair Overeem in UFC 203, then against Junior Dos Santos in UFC 211, and then against Francis Ngannou in UFC 220. During the build-up to this fight, Miocic openly felt disregarded as he never received the same encouragement and support as Ngannou from the UFC.
Stipe Miocic, however, won all three fights, establishing the longest title reign in UFC history. This term ended with the defeat of UFC champion Daniel Cormier in the light heavyweight UFC 226 on July 7, 2018. Wife
Since things were obviously going well within the octagon, Miocic spiced things up by marrying Ryan Marie Carney on June 18, 2016, and the couple got married in Kirtland, Ohio, at Divine Word Catholic Church.
