Jacqui Jeras is an award-winning journalist currently working as a meteorologist for the Weather Channel, Atlanta, Georgia, United States. She joined the channel as a freelancer in 2016 and later became a full-time worker in 2019. Previously, she worked as a morning weather forecaster in Washington D.C. for an ABC affiliate. She was also a meteorologist at WEHT News in Evansville and KCAY TV News, Sioux City, Iowa. In addition, she holds an American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval and has also served as Chair of Counsel and Recertification.
Jeras attended Iowa State University and majored in Journalism and Mass Communication. She also went to Mississippi State University, where she earned a certificate in Broadcast Meteorology. Furthermore, Jacqui also worked at CNN for 13 years as a meteorologist. On CNN, she won the Peabody Award for her coverage of Hurricane Katrina and the Gulf oil spill.
