Alistair Begg is an American senior pastor at Parkside Church in Cleveland. He has held this position since 1983. He is the voice behind Truth For Life Church’s radio teaching and preaching ministry. This session broadcasts his sermons daily to stations across North America. In addition, he is the author of several books.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Begg still carries a distinct Scottish accent, even after years of ministry in the United States. After the death of his mother, he grew stronger in faith and did not give up. He graduated from the London School of Theology in 1975 and then served eight years in Scotland at Charlotte Chapel. Begg also served at Hamilton Baptist Church in Lanarkshire.
In addition, he was educated at Trent University and Westminster Theological Seminary. Some of his ministers are Martyn Lloyd-Jones, John Stott, Derek Prime, Eric Alexander, Sinclair Ferguson, Dick Lucas, Eric Liddell, Charles Haddon Spurgeon, Jim Elliot and Hudson Taylor, among others. He strongly believes in the inerrancy and supremacy of Scripture, and in the saving power of Christ.
