Andrea Mitchell is a renowned American television journalist, anchor and commentator for NBC News based in Washington, DC She is the Head of Foreign Affairs for NBC News and also the Senior Correspondent for Washington.

She attended New Rochelle High School. After graduating from high school, Andrea joined the University of Pennsylvania to earn a bachelor’s degree in English literature. His graduation from the university was in the year 1967.
While in college, Andrea worked as the news director for the student radio station WXPN. Even after graduation, she stayed in Philadelphia and was soon hired as a reporter on KYW radio. Andrea soon rose to prominence as a correspondent at the station’s prefecture while reporting for KYW-TV, a sister station.

In 1976, Mitchell moved to WTOP (now WUSA), a CBS station in Washington, D.C. Mitchell joined the NBC news network two years later as a general correspondent. Mitchell began working for NBC News in late July 1978.
In 1979, she joined NBC News as an energy correspondent, covering the energy crisis of the late 1970s as well as the Three Mile Island nuclear disaster. Mitchell was a White House correspondent from 1981 to 1988, when she was promoted to chief congressional correspondent.
Since November 1994, she has served as the Chief Foreign Correspondent for NBC News. She previously worked for NBC News as a White House Correspondent (1993-1994) and Congressional Correspondent (1988-1992).
Mitchell chronicled her career as a journalist in a book titled Talking Back… to Presidents, Dictators, and Assorted Scoundrels, which she released in 2005.
Since 2008, Mitchell has hosted a show on the NBC news and commentary channel MSNBC titled Andrea Mitchell Reports. It broadcasts weekdays at 12:00 ET.
In the above roles, Andrea reported on the 2008 presidential election campaign for NBC News Broadcasts. This was on NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, MSNBC and Today.
She even has her self-titled show, Andrea Mitchell Reports, which airs from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm ET weekdays on MSNBC. She also hosted and guest-hosted Meet the Press. Other shows she has participated in include; Hardball with Chris Matthews and The Rachel Maddow Show.
In 2019, she won a Lifetime Achievement Emmy for her successful career in journalism.
