Barry Burbank is a retired veteran American meteorologist known for working on WBZ-TV, Weekend News. He began his career on WBZ-Tv on March 3, 1978, as the station’s auxiliary and weekend weatherman. This makes him one of the oldest morning weather forecasters in the region.

Barry attended the Lowell Technological Insitute in Lowell, where he graduated in 1972 with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology. Lately, he is planning to join his alma mater, now called the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, as a member of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Board of Advisors.

Initially, Burbank began his career in February 1976 at WCSH-TV 6, Portland, Maine, as a weekday weatherman. It was while working at the station that he got the opportunity to work for WBZ-TV as a weekend weatherman and station replacement.
He provided extra storm coverage on WBZ News Radio 1030 and produced weather forecasts for several other New England radio stations for over 2 decades.
Throughout, he has received numerous accolades for his work, including the 2006 Award for Outstanding Service by a Broadcast Meteorologist, a national honor presented by the American Meteorological Society.
He is a member of the American Meteorological Society. In addition, Barry holds his Seal of Approval for Excellence in Television Weather. Burbank also served as treasurer for the Eastern New England Chapter of the National Weather Association. In addition, he is a member of the Blue Hill and Mount Washington Observatories.
