Paul Konrad biography
Paul Konrad is an Emmy-winning American journalist and weather anchor who currently works for WGN-TV, where he anchors the station’s Morning News from 6am to 10am. He joined the station in 1996 and is the anchor of the Morning News of Chicago’s highest-rated station. Prior to joining WGN-TV, Konrad worked in a newsroom in Tampa Bay, Montgomery, Alabama and Chicago Land Television News (CLTV).
Paul graduated from Paul University Bachelor of Arts in Acting and Master of Speech, Radio, Television and Film from Northwest University. He also studied meteorology at Mississippi State University. For high school, Paul attended Waubonsie Valley High School.
He features a semi-weekly segment called “Courtesy Desk” where he takes suggestions and ideas from viewers and passes them on to his on-air colleagues for approval and, occasionally, disapproval. He is also proud to host the weekly “Friday Forecaster” segment, which features an elementary school age child predicting the weather on live TV every Friday on the WGN Morning News.
Furthermore, Konrad is responsible for designing the social media engagement strategy that usually reaches up to one million people per week. Prior to joining WGN, Paul worked at a T WFTS-TV newsroom in Tampa Bay, Florida, later starting his career in Montgomery, Alabama, where he worked for WAKA-TV.
