Cory Repenhagen biography
Cory Repenhagen is an American meteorologist who currently works as a reporter for 9 News in Denver, Colorado. Before joining 9News, he worked at WFTV-9 as a reporter.
In 2001, Cory moved to Wichita, Kansas. He saw his first supercell storm from Kansas come marching across the plains while working for KAKE-10. Immediately, he was addicted to harsh weather and storm chasing. Cory moved to Florida after covering several tornadoes and several weather outbreaks and experiencing some tropical storms.
Cory covered its first four hurricanes in 2004, including Charley, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne, and in 2005 it was hurricanes Dennis, Katrina, Ophelia, Rita and Wilma. While working at WFTV-9 in Florida, Reppenhagen decided to strengthen his knowledge of the weather and earned his BA in Geosciences in 2010. Therefore, his work focus shifted from photographing the news to predicting and reporting the weather as a meteorologist.
Additionally, Cory spent ten years on WFTV in Orlando, covering 14 hurricanes and 4 named tropical storms. Fortunately, he won a Suncoast Regional Emmy Award for his coverage of the April 2011 super tornado outbreak across the state of Alabama.

Repenhagen graduated in 1992 from Manitou Springs High School. Before going to college right away, he gained two valuable life experiences. The first was a trip to Australia to play baseball with a team representing Colorado. Second, Cory worked at the Keystone Resort for about two years, where he took care of the ice rink and logged over 100 hits on his ski pass.
Fortunately, he decided to go back to school and earned a BA in Mass Communication in 1999 from Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado. Luckily, while still studying, he got his first jobs at KJCT-8 and KKCO-11. He also studied for a Bachelor of Science in Geosciences at State of Mississippi distance learning program in 2010.
