Doug Kammerer is an American meteorologist who currently serves as the chief meteorologist at NBC4. Born in Washington and raised in Northern Virginia, he attended Herndon High School and Herndon Middle School. He holds a degree in Meteorology from the University of Northern Colorado.
Doug returned to the area in 2010 to work for NBC4, the station he grew up watching. A gifted meteorologist, he earned the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal. Additionally, he has won five Emmy Awards presented by the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
He studied and predicted the weather in Orland, Jacksonville and Macon. Furthermore, Doug spent seven years in Philadelphia on KYW-TV, The CW Philly, WCAU-TV and WPHL-TV.
