Elizabeth Gardner is an American meteorologist best known for serving on WRAL TV. She worked for over 20 years on the WRAL TV network. The most defining moment of her career was the hurricanes she covered. Elizabeth covered Hurricane Bonnie in 1998. In 1999, she covered Hurricane Floyd.
Gardner studied at Mississippi State University and then graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Geosciences. Furthermore, she joined the University of Colorado at Boulder and later graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Journalism. She also studied at St. Mary’s College, Raleigh.
Elizabeth worked as a reporter at WGHP-TV, High Point, North Carolina from 1990 to 1994. From 1994 to 1995, she worked as a meteorologist at WECT-TV, Wilmington, North Carolina. She also worked as a weather anchor at KXLY-TV, Spokane, Wash from 1995 to 1998. She currently works at WRAL TV since 1998.
Gardner is a certified meteorologist by the American Meteorological Society, National Weather Association Seal of Approval. Furthermore, she scored the Regional Emmy for Outstanding Weathercast in 2001. She was nominated for an Emmy for the category of weather anchor in 1998.
