Erika Delgado is an Emmy-winning American meteorologist and currently works at the WSVN Network as a weekend morning weather forecaster in South Florida. Prior to joining the WSVN Network, Delgado worked as a weekend weatherman on NBC 6, also in South Florida.
Erika attended and graduated Florida International University with a BA in Journalism. She later enrolled in the Mississippi State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Meteorology.
Beginning his career in Boston as a bilingual on-air meteorologist, making forecasts for various locations across the country with The Weather Company, Delgado began his career in New York as a bilingual on-air meteorologist. Covering different cities from coast to coast allowed him to gain a comprehensive understanding of the country’s climate, such as droughts in the west, blizzards in the northeast, tornado outbreaks in the midwest, and hurricanes on the east coast. Luckily, she got her first stint on the local news in Portland, Maine as a freelancer at WCSH.
Erika’s passion for the weather began in 1992, at a young age, when Hurricane Andrew passed through South Florida. After witnessing the devastating consequences, she decided to make it her career mission to warn people of impending natural disasters and calamities.
