The charismatic “Pirates of the Caribbean” icon and the vivacious “Scream VI” actress are not as speculated the latest “it” couple as confirmed by an insider.
A fervor of speculation ignited when gossip blog Deuxmoi ignited whispers that Johnny Depp and Ortega might be collaborating on the much-anticipated “Beetlejuice 2” slated for release next fall. However, these rumors were swiftly snuffed out by both Depp and Jenna Ortega themselves. The 20-year-old actress took to her Instagram Story to address the unfounded claims denouncing them as “ridiculous” and expressing her exasperation at the baseless gossip.
“I can’t even laugh” lamented the “Wednesday” star in a since-deleted post. “I have never met or worked with Johnny Depp in my life” she asserted. “Please stop spreading lies and leave us alone.”
While Depp’s representative has not yet commented on the matter this definitive statement from Jenna Ortega has put the matter to rest for now. The 60-year-old “Edward Scissorhands” star had recently made headlines for his romantic involvement with Joelle Rich a London-based attorney who provided legal support during Depp’s libel case against The Sun in 2020.
Sources close to the actor revealed that Rich was going through a divorce when her relationship with Johnny Depp began. Sadly their union met an end in October 2022.
