Josh currently hosts the Discovery Channel series Expedition Unkwon, a show on which he is also the co-executive producer. It also hosts Legendary Sites.
Notably, Josh is also known for hosting several live specials, as well as a guest investigator on the television series Ghost Hunters and its spin-offs; Ghostbusters International. He also produces the Ghost Nation series, among other paranormal television shows, through his production company Ping Pong Productions.
Gates went to Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts, and majored in archeology and drama. He began his career as an explorer and climbed the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa and Mount Aconcagua.
