Kat Campbell is an American meteorologist who currently works as a weather announcer at WRAL-TV, an NBC affiliate in Raleigh, North Carolina. Prior to joining her current station, she worked as a meteorologist at WAFF-48 News in Huntsville.
Her passion for the weather started early and she knew exactly what she wanted to pursue in adulthood. Campbell witnessed some significant tornadoes as she grew up in her hometown. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from North Carolina State University.
While in Huntsville, she covered southern winter weather and tropical storms. Before moving to Huntsville, she worked part-time as a weather graphics producer at WRAL. Furthermore, she has on-air experience as a freelance meteorologist at WCTI News in Eastern NC.
While at NC State, she was president of the Broadcast Meteorology Club and interned at WXII News in her hometown. Campbell also interned for a weather forecasting company, WeatherBell Analytics, in New York.
Campbell is an avid winter weather lover who enjoys visiting her family in Michigan. In Michigan, she often witnesses intense lake-effect snow. She feels excited to be in Rocket City and looks forward to the challenging and exciting weather in the Tennessee Valley.
