Katie Horner is a renowned American meteorologist who has currently worked for KMBC-TV since January 7, 2013. She spent over 17 years as chief meteorologist in the Kansas City area before her career took her east and west along off Interstate 70. For a time, Katie was traveling to St. Louis every week to see the weather on KMOV and KSDk while caring for his terminally ill father.
After her father passed away, Katie went west and took over as Director of Public Affairs for the Assistant General of Kansas in Topeka, Kansas. While there, she also became the spokesperson for the Kansas National Guard and the Kansas Emergency Management Division.

She even wrote a children’s book, ‘Brainstorming: A Creative Guide to Helping Parents and Children in Tough Times’. And she was named one of Kansas City’s most influential women.
Horner has completed three half marathons, the Dublin, Ireland Marathon and the Chicago Marathon. She has also raced in over three dozen short triathlons, and many 5k and 10k are to remember. Furthermore, she completed a 500 mile bike through the Colorado Rockies.
