Michael Estime is an American broadcast meteorologist at WBJK, Fox 2 Detroit as a meteorologist. Additionally, he is a member of the National Weather Association. Prior to joining his current station, Estime worked at WKYC in Cleveland, Ohio, where he served as the weekend meteorologist and weekend co-host of the “Live on Lakeside” program for 4 years.
He attended and graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in Meteorology with a minor in Mathematics. Estime began his professional career in Macon, Georgia, where he first served as a morning meteorologist for WMGT. He served as a morning meteorologist before his promotion to chief meteorologist.
While at WMGT, Estime experienced a little bit of everything from scorching summers to hurricanes. He also worked at MHTV News Central 34, where he won the “Best Weathercaster” award for 3 consecutive years from 2006 to 2008.
He joined WKYC as a weekend meteorologist and co-host. Prior to that, he worked for WTVG in Lexington, Kentucky, where he served as the morning, midday, and afternoon meteorologist. He later left the station and moved to Detroit, Michigan. He currently serves as a meteorologist for WJBK, Fox 2 Detroit.
