Nerissa Knight Biography
Nerissa Knight is an Emmy-winning American journalist. She worked as a reporter at KTLA 5 News in Los Angeles before leaving the station in 2020.
Prior to joining KTLA 5 News, Knight worked as an anchor/reporter for KNBC in Los Angeles, she also co-hosted the weekend show “Today in LA” for about four years. Additionally, she has worked as a co-host on KTLA’s sister station KDAF in Dallas, hosting Tribune Media’s pop culture morning show “Eye Opener TV”, which also airs in other major markets including Houston, Miami and Philadelphia.
Additionally, her extensive television career has led her to work as an anchor/reporter in other markets across the country such as Beaumont, Texas (KBTV); Mobile, Alabama (WALA-TV); Little Rock, Arkansas (KATV, KTHV-TV); Milwaukee, Wisconsin (WDJT-TV); and Dallas, Texas (KTVT-TV).
Furthermore, Knight is also a former Miss Black Arkansas, Miss Black Memphis and Miss Black America runner-up. She is very involved with the community. She has spent more than two decades giving scholarships to exceptional and deserving students in need. Her dedication to giving back to society has been recognized with several service awards such as the Brookin Community Service Award, the Brookin Community Service Award and the Purple Bottom Group for Abused Women Service Award. She was also recognized by the Governor of California with a mentorship award for her work with youth.
Additionally, Nerissa is an active member of the National Association of Black Journalists, including the local Los Angeles chapter.
